The final report is very thorough with a record of the hourly levels of radon and the final tally. Radon is measured in pico curie per liter, pCi/l. The EPA recommends you have the home fixed if the final results are 4 pCi/l or above.
A home can be easily fixed. Home Check, LLC tests for radon only but can refer a quality mitigation company if needed.
A mitigation company will install various pipes through the basement floor with commonly a blower unit to evacuate the radon gas to the exterior of the home. The company also will seal up any avenue for radon entry into the basement, crawlspace, etc.
I have measured radon levels in the northeast Ohio area anywhere from 1 pCi/l to over 50 pCi/l.
I feel radon is something worth being concerned about for yourself and your family.
